Three Shrines

horizontal rule

photo 2000 Maurice Jacobs

This building contains three shrines that are often found in separate buildings at other temples:

bullet

The Palsangjeon - a series of murals illustrating the life of the historic buddha

bullet

The Shrine of the Lonely Saint or Dokseongjeon

bullet

The Shrine of the Sixteen Arhats or Nahanjeon

Records show that a separate Nahanjeon was built in 1613 and a Palsangjeon in 1705.  It is unknown exactly when the current building was erected, but the best guess in sometime during the Late Chosun Period.
